If visiting Flam in a day, you may not be able to see and do everything. For a small town that serves as a brief stopping point for those traveling across Norway, there are a lot of great things to do in Flam. Here are some of the best activities in and around Flam, Norway.1- THE FLAM RAILWAY
The Flåm Railway is one of the major and most fabulous tourist attractions and the train journey between Bergen and Flåm provides travellers with some of the wildest and most magnificent scenery in Norway. On the 20 km distance (1 hour) long train ride, you can see rivers that cut through deep ravines, waterfalls cascading down the side of steep, snow-capped mountains and mountain farms clinging dizzily to sheer slopes. Along the route, the Flåm Railway also makes a short photo stop at the beautiful Kjosfossen waterfall.It is considered one of the most beautiful train rides in the world, and the views do not disappoint. Winding through the majestic mountains of central Norway and passing by countless waterfalls, round-trip train ride on the Flam Railway is worth every penny.
2- TAKE A CRUISE THROUGH THE NAEROYFJORD
The number one thing to do in Flam is to take a scenic cruise through the Naeroyfjord. This is a UNESCO World Heritage Site
In summer it is recommended that you take an early morning or late afternoon cruise to beat the crowds. However, as with many other aspects of tourism, traveling in winter provides much more flexibility and fewer people.
3- VISIT FLAMSBANA MUSEUM
The Flamsbana Museum is next to the railway platform. It's free to enter and a must for any train enthusiasts. It is very small museum, But it is worth a short visit to learn more about the beautiful railway history and it's extra-ordinary construction. May be this sound not exciting you but once you’ve taken the journey through mountain tunnels, you will likely want to know more about this incredible project which took twenty years to complete.
4- STEGASTEIN VIEWPOINT
If you are traveling by car, you should to visit Stegastein viewpoint is. Within a thirty-minute drive from Flam via a narrow, winding road, Stegastein viewpoint is a popular stop for summer tourism.

5- SKI AT MYRKDALEN MOUNTAIN
This is not the end here, however, a short distance from Flam is Myrkdalen Mountain Resort. This is the largest ski resort in Western Norway for everyone; beginners, intermediates and experts. Plus, more snow falls in Myrkdalen than in almost every other part of Western Europe.
